World of Warcraft - Alliance Old Iron Forge Glitch
68How to Access The Old Iron Forge Glitch:
In the Eastern Kingdoms, there is a city called Iron Forge. To find this secret area, which is obviously a glitch, or maybe not, go to the south west corner of The Great Forge in the city of Iron Forge. You must get a friend that is a Mage that can sheep you. One of a Mage's battle defenses is to turn their opponent into a sheep to immobilize them for a time to keep the Mage free from attack so he, or she, can heal. This maneuver is usually used to incapacitate enemies so they cannot attack, but in this case it is to make your size smaller to enable you to fit through some kind of hole, or glitch, that is accessible in the south west corner of the Great Forge. You and the mage must start in a duel area and start a friendly duel, then you both must run over to a torch and a small furnace. The mage should stand facing the dwarven brazier, which lighted torch on the ground. Behind the dwarven brazier there is what looks like a lit vent furnace. Your character will run and jump into the dwarven brazier to be able to get up on the furnace shelf. While on or in the furnace shelf, the mage will them sheep you and then you will mill around as a sheep and eventually drop under the forge into area that is called old iron forge. There is no one there. There are no torches lit and it is believed that this is a part of the game that is not used anymore. Some groups, or guilds, that know of this area meet up to have secret meetings, underground. Or some just like the thrill of discovering secret unknown, or little known, places throughout the World of Warcraft.
The World of Warcraft
The World of Warcraft is one of the most popular video games online. This large role playing game is made up of continents and worlds, with expansions coming out ever few years. No game is complete, in my eyes, if there isn't a few glitches. For fun I try to find them in all games if I can. It is sort of like seeing through the matrix of the game and finding out how everything tics. This is just a fun little glitch that I have heard wow groups sometimes used to meet up at before going on a missions. It is neat to see even if you are not with a group. It is sort of part of the old game that was never used much and is not used anymore at all for anything, I don't think.
It is a little tricky to get into this area of the Old Iron Forge, and it takes some participation from other friend players, but that makes is so much more of an accomplishment when you arrive there. For curiosity, or for no reason at all.
Small Glitches are Neat, Not Annoying
In conclusion, this glitch may still be a part of the game or not. It could be removed at anytime during routine maintenance, but I hope not. If a glitch is small and doesn't necessarily interfere with the game or players functions, than I say why remove it? If the glitch is not allowing players to cheat then what is the harm of this kind of scenery glitch. It is part of the game and tells a story of it's development. It should always be a part of the unfolding history of the online universe of the World of Warcraft. I understand there may be reasons where it is necessary to remove glitches to clean up the program of a game, but I hope this information reveals some reasons why it is interesting to keep them in games.
