The only way to quit smoking without falling off the wagon is to look deep into your mind and heart to discover more about your life, and why you smoke. The habit of smoking gets deep down into a persons everyday thinking, until one day they don’t even know they are smoking half of their life away. There are the physical addictive properties of smoking that are hard to overcome, but there is also the mental addiction of smoking that has to be overcome to have a good chance of quitting for good.

Quitting smoking can be one of the best choices a person can make in their life, for the health reasons but also for their loved ones. Second hand smoke can effect the health of the people closest to us in our lives.

Even just the influence of smoking can have effects on family, especially children. They grow up seeing their parents smoke and think that is what they want to do to. In this way smoking can have impact in the family for future generations to come.

Quitting smoking can be hard, but there are a lot of options out there to help you with the battle, and hopefully win the battle to quit smoking.

There are many ways to help curve the cravings that smoking for so long have caused, until you are ready to make the final commitment to quit.

There are many natural ways to quit smoking that have proven to very effective. Everybody has habits, and some people have a harder time not giving into the temptation and quitting a habit, like smoking, that is detrimental to their health.

The power of addiction effects all people differently. Just because one person has more trouble quitting smoking than another does not mean the person having a harder time is weak as a person, or less of a person. It just means that their brain chemistry is different, as everyone's is different, and altering that brain chemistry by quitting smoking will produce a different outcome for everyone. Different outcome of emotion, physical symptoms, the strength of cravings and the ability to overcome them.

We do not get to decide how our bodies are made and function. We can only curve ourselves in positive directions when it comes to taking care of out health. Like trying to quit smoking.

Smoking is so chemically addictive that it can sort of take over our reasoning and ability to make choices because a person will go through physical withdrawals from smoking. Stopping smoking does not just mean that you will not smoke anymore. It means that you will have to tweak your life around the smoking to eliminate the habit. To be truly successful and quit smoking for good, you can utilize medicines to help curb nicotine cravings but eventually, you'll have to dig deeper.

This is because you are given, and practice, mental tools to deal with feelings of cravings and the other physical symptoms of smoking.

In the long run, if you use all your resources to quit smoking you will most likely have the best outcome.

Great hub. I quit smoking about just over 10 years ago, went cold turkey. the first few days were the worst but I feel so much better now.

Thanks. That is so great you quit cold turkey. That's the best way to go I would say. I know a couple of people that quit that way, but for some people it seems harder. It just depends on the person I guess.
